WEC Drilling Programme
This 2 year programme is aimed at junior to mid-level Drilling Engineers wishing to consolidate their knowledge and demonstrate their competency through a structured, certified programme.
Our Drilling Engineering programme offers a comprehensive understanding of the drilling processes and equipment utilised in the field. Participants will gain insights into crucial well activities that take place both before and after the drilling of a well.
Key topics covered include:
Well Control: This section focuses on the techniques and systems used to manage the pressures in the wellbore during drilling, thus ensuring safety and operational efficiency.
Casing Design: Here, participants will learn about the design and implementation of casing strings, which provide structural integrity and prevent the collapse of the wellbore.
Drill String Design: This topic encompasses the design of the drill string, including the various components and their function within the drilling operation to optimise performance and enhance drilling efficiency.
Through this programme, participants will gain a thorough understanding of drilling engineering principles, equipping them for successful careers in the oil and gas sector. The programme is designed not only for individuals without a formal drilling engineering degree but also for those aiming to deepen their existing knowledge in the field.
Participants will enhance their capability to offer effective rig site support, improving overall operational efficiency in their roles and responsibilities. Focus areas will include drilling processes, equipment, safety protocols, and problem-solving strategies essential for the industry. By the end of the programme, participants will emerge with both theoretical and practical skills that are directly applicable to their work environments.
